Far Cry 2 review

When I think of Far Cry 2 I think of fire. This is the most impressive element of the game. Actually I should generalize and say that the Dunia engine is impressive. This is the first game where I see wind, and it really feels and acts accordingly. If you start a fire in the savanna and the wind is blowing, the effect is guaranteed. This is a great game for all you pyromancers out there…. I kid, I kid.

Crysis physics fun

It’s raining barrels you could say :-) .Impressive…it’s really impressive what the physics engine in Crysis can do…but what I find even more impressive is if the freaking game would run smooth on my not so modest PC. It’s frustrating to play Warhead and when you push “B” for binocular your frame rate to drop from 30-40 to 1 frame at 3 seconds. I’ll give this game another chance when a patch will be ready. Until then I’ll enjoy this clip.

What’s Blizzard cooking…

Last week Blizzcon ended. As Blizzard sais “BlizzCon is a celebration of the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises and the communities that surround them.” … or how I say is just another occasion to raise the hype around these franchises just like Blizzard Worldwide Invitation that took place in Paris this summer. There were made a lot of announcements, not all of them to my liking. Let’s start with Diablo 3. A new class was announced, the Wizard. From what I saw in the trailer this class is pretty cool, it’s my favorite till now. Spells like Disintegrate, Electrocute, Magic Missile and Slow Time make this class a lot Read more

Bioshock 2 was announced a while ago but we didn’t saw any proof …until now that is. Recently a trailer leaked on YouTube that sure looks like Bioshock 2. The trailer is to well made to be fake. It catches Bioshock atmosphere very good, the music, the ocean..the girl with the doll…that looks a lot like a Big Daddy. At the end of the trailer we see the full title. I expect the official trailer soon.

Warhammer Online: What’s new!

Since my last post about WAR the population grew from 500.00 to 750.00. It sounds really good I’d say, especially because I’m a fan :-) . Some bad mouths would say that Age of Conan had roughly the same number of players in the first month, but this time I think they will stay after the free month expires and the numbers will grow… but that’s just me….and all the other WAR fans out there.

Another think about WAR is that, how Mythic anticipated, players tend to prefer the Destruction faction (yeah, I think it looks cool too, but I play with the good guys because I always liked the “underdog”). And because a population disequilibrium affects the game experience especially in WAR, Mythic introduced in 1.02 patch a little something that you could call it “a bribe” . Order players receive a 20% XP and renown bonus on this realms. This should convince a lot of players to chose Order but I don’t know if this is the best way to do it, a more natural way like making some improvements in Order classes would be cooler. But in the end what works is best. I’m curious how this will affect the player distribution.
